About the Course
Ready to buy your first home—and have some fun doing it? This one hour group class covers homebuying essentials like mortgages, down payments, touring homes, and contracts. Then, you and your partner will learn a fun dance routine—perfect for a first dance or just connecting on a new journey together.

Lesson 1: Mortgages & Moves
with Mortgage Lender, Denise Gates. Learn about lending, PITI, interest rates, and how debt and credit score affect your mortgage. Then, Max & Ashley will teach the 3 Basics of Country Swing.
Lesson 2: Down Payments & Dips
Learn about low- and no- down payment options, the "20% down payment" myth, and pros & cons of putting more down on a home. Then, you'll learn a variety of partner dips for dancing.
Lesson 3: House Hacking & Hips
Learn about how tenants can help with your mortgage and how to turn your home into an asset. Then, incorporate hip leans into your dancing.
Lesson 4: Showings & Spins
Learn what to expect while house shopping and how to establish your home buying criteria. Then, work on adding spins to your dance moves.
Lesson 5: Contracts & Catches
Gain an understanding of the purchase offer, the role of a title company, and earnest money. Then, make your lady shine with simple lifts.
Lesson 6: Under Contract & Unison
Learn about the home inspection process, appraisal, disclosures, and the pros & cons of an HOA. Then, practice moving in sync to the rhythm of the music.
Lesson 7: Sold & Slides
Learn about closing costs, capital expenditures, and what to expect after buying a house. Then, slide out of your dips with style.

Frequently Asked Questions
When Should I Arrive?
Come 15 minutes early (7:15pm) if you want food or drink. Don't forget to BRING YOUR ID!
Where to Go?
The class will be held upstairs and to the right (in the media room first). Make sure you're at the Prost Brewery Northglenn location.
What to Bring?
The first 30 minutes will be a sit down lecture class. Bring whatever you like to take notes with (paper/laptop/your partner's arm...)
What to Wear?
I love cowboy boots! However you can wear whatever is comfortable to you, but I highly recommend close-toed shoes with a slippery bottom.
Do I Have to Order a Drink?
No, you do not have to order any food or drink at the venue.
If I Order a Drink, Will I Have Time to Drink it During the Class?
Yes, the first 30 minutes will be the lecture portion for the Home Buying Class. Try to have drinks/food finished before the dance portion.
What If I Miss a Class?
If you are not able to make it to all 7 classes, I will have notes/slideshows for what you missed in the Home Buying portion and a recap video of the dance portion. PLEASE try to commit to making it to ALL of the classes though. This is a small class, so when a couple misses a session, it can disrupt the flow and make them feel behind in the next class.
Will We Be Learning Choreography?
No, we will be teaching you common dance moves (in the style of Country Swing) that go to all genres of music. You can sync up the moves any way you please. We offer private dance/wedding choreography in Arvada if you need extra help!
